I began taking photos in 2005 as a hobby. In 2007, I had the opportunity to expand my love of the art and joined the West Kentucky Photography Club located in my home town of Madisonville, KY. This opened a new avenue of learning from my fellow members such as Tom Wortham, Jim Pearson and Lowell Mendyk and the many other guest speakers over the years.  In 2011, Mayor David W. Jackson took office and I quickly learned to carry my camera with me at all times. He encouraged me to include my hobby as a part of my role as City Clerk. This opened the door to including photos of our city and events to correspond with the city records. Through the role of being a City Clerk/Photographer I attended events for the first time in my career and have learned to love the City even more through my camera.  My camera is now my constant companion. I have spent the last few years trying to learn everything I could about photography and each day I learn something new.

I have discovered that I love to take HDR photos of buildings in my home town and as I travel. These series are entitled © "My Town Through My Eyes” and ©”Your Town Through My Eyes”. After I started the series, ©”My Town Through My Eyes” I was encouraged by Suzanne Henley to have note cards made of my photos. She also asked me to join the Hopkins County Art League. Once again this opened another door for me to show off my photography by being able to participate in Gallery Hop and other events with the Art League.

I retired July 31, 2013 as City Clerk/Treasurer for the City of Madisonville, KY after 31 years in that position. My love for my city and our downtown area has grown over the 39 years in total I worked for the City of Madisonville from the love of my job serving the people of Madisonville and wanting to capture our history through my photos. I treasure the moments when my fellow citizens share their memories which my photo has brought to mind.

After my retirement thanks to my friend Daron Jordan I created a new series "Campus Life".  Daron ask me to create a composite of several of the buildings on Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY for his wife's birthday.  This led me to create this new series and at the request of friends my next colleges to photograph were Transylvania University, University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY. and Vanderbilt University in Nashville TN.

I love doing portraits and have been very fortunate to be able to learn from a well renown Photography and friend Chi Chi Mills who grew up in Webb's Studio that was owned by her parents and then became hers.  I am so fortunate to have her share her knowledge with me and to have such a wonderful mentor and teacher.
